Click here to join the 40-journey The season of Lent offers for us an ideal timeframe to put on the armor of God and reinforce our resolve for the days ahead. Lent is a 40-day long season which precedes the recollection of Jesus’ death on Good Friday and the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday. These 40 days are set aside to better focus on Jesus’ call to be his followers and fortify our faith and strengthen our soul.   For 40 days we are all asked to especially: ·     Pray daily. ·     Study God’s Word daily. ·     Worship weekly. ·     Give an extra $1.00 a day (With all funds raised going to Global Refuge – matching up to $5,000). ·     Participate in our Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. (March 12 – April 9) Zoom Discussions.   The Zoom discussions will be based on “ Lessons from Dietrich Bonhoeffer in a House Divided and a World on Fire ,” a curriculum created by the Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in Pennsylvania and the International Bonhoeffer Society. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was an extraordinary follower of Jesus who gave his life as an act of love and sacrifice against Christian Nationalism in the form of Nazism in 1940s Germany. Many of us see stark similarities between 1940s Germany and the state of the United States today. What can WE do? How do WE resist? How do WE effectively follow Jesus right now?
