You'll Be Growing What You've Been Sowing

Galatians 5:22-23 By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.

Dear Beloved,

Greetings in the peace and love of Christ; a love which knows no end.

From what I have been told, it's really not too complicated.  If you want to grow an apple tree, plant apple seeds; if you want to grow a cherry tree, plant cherry pits;  if you want to grow a banana tree, plant banana seeds.

What's the teaching - "God is not mocked, for you reap what you sow."

(Galatians 6:7)

Therefore if you want your life to produce the fruits of the Spirit, "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control," you need the Holy Spirit to sow the things of God in your life!  You cannot grow what you will not allow for God to sow.

One of the truths about the Sacred and Sensational Spirit of God is that the Spirit is not a gift for an individual to simply build that person up but a communal gift to build ALL people up.  The Spirit works in relationship and moves where at least "two or three are gathered."  For where else can you produce "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control" then when relating to other people?  Churches are the green houses to grow the fruit of the Spirit to be given to the world all around us.

For the next eight weeks, we are going to focus on one of the fruits of the Spirit and prayerfully seek the presence of Christ's Sacred Spirit to dwell in all of us.  Let's get ready for God's produce to be produced from our living.  Our hearts are the soil and God is the sower.

Let's see what the Spirit can produce through us.

Love, Pastor G
